Bernado Maralack
Bernado Maralack joined Gardier Security Services in March 2020 as the Human Resources Director. Prior to joining Gardier Security Services, Bernado held several senior positions within World Vision South Africa, with the most recent role being Operations Director with oversight across all 9 provinces. He also held the position of Executive Councillor within the Drakenstein Municipality and held various leadership roles within the municipality and served on the Cape Winelands District Municipality Council. He has substantial senior executive experience, played a leadership role in the development of strategic and chance management procedures of numerous institutions. Bernado’s qualifications include Master of Business Administration (MBA), MPhil in Science and Technology, Bachelor of Theology, National Diploma in Local Government Management, and he also has a Project Management Certificate. He is currently enrolled for a Doctorate in Business Management.
Adriaan Louw

Adriaan Louw started his career in the security industry in 1988 when he joined Gray Security Services in Cape Town after a short career in the South African Police. He progressed to the position of Divisional Managing Director in 1998 and thereafter also served as Coastal Regional Director for Chubb South Africa and Managing Director of Thorburn Security between 2004 and 2010 before establishing Gardier Security Services with former colleague Willem Bruwer. He describes himself as a people’s person and embraces the Gardier Values of treating all employees with dignity and respect. Adriaan is married to Evelyn, has two adult children and two grandchildren. He is a keen golfer and DIY enthusiast and enjoys various fitness activities.
Willem Bruwer
Willem Bruwer holds a qualification as a qualified Health Inspector and has vast knowledge and exposure to Occupational Health & Safety through his studies. He started his career in the security industry joining Gray Security Services in 1998 where he specialised in security operations until 2006 before leaving to join Thorburn Security as Operations Manager. Willem resigned from Thorburn in 2010 to join Holbert Integrated Technologies, where he gained valuable knowledge and experience of the operational applications of the technical security industry, which today stands him in good stead offering customers an integrated security solution. Willem is married to Magda and has two beautiful daughters, Megan, and Emma-Jean. He enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with his family.
Thinus Theron
Marketing Manager
Thinus Theron entered the security industry in 2004 when he joined SecuriplanUK after finishing his Marketing Management studies. Upon returning to South Africa, he joined Thorburn Security Solutions as a Contract Manager in 2007, a position he held up until 2011 when he was approached to join the newly established Gardier Security Services as an Area Manager. The challenges of having to operate in an environment where you are “not following the old”, but “establishing the new” provided Thinus with invaluable experience within the security industry, and 3 years later, in 2014, he was promoted to the position of Operations Manager, responsible for Western Cape operations. In 2019 after a successful 5 years as Operations Manager, he moved into the position of Marketing Manager. Thinus is a dedicated and methodical manager and subscribes to principles of Planning & Leading.
Johan Pieterse
Operations Manager
Johan Pieterse started his career in the security industry in 2000 when he joined Enforce Security Group as an Area Manager. From 2001, he was a key member of the Risk and Security Management Team of one of the most upmarket wine destinations in the Stellenbosch region. Johan is experienced in various fields in the security industry, among which, Corporate, Hospitality, Logistics, Warehousing, and Industrial Security. In 2013 he was approached to join Gardier Security Services as a Contract Manager and was promoted to the position of Operations Manager for the Western Cape and Eastern Cape region in 2019.
